Using 5 sec Chart

There is always this question of how to use the 5 sec chart. Here is one chart showing some of my understanding of it's use.

Parting words from a now retired super-trader

To clarify, Anek's last day of trading was today. He retired to spend more time with family. Having mentioned that the more precious resource is time, above all else.

As for trading tips, he left me with the following:

Anek> what instrument do you trade
Stone> even tho no one will know who Anekdoten is =)
Anek> NQ?
Stone> ES
Anek> ok
Anek> i highly suggest
Anek> the following charts
Anek> 100k
Anek> 240 minutes
Anek> learn to spot R becoming S
Anek> and S becoming R
Anek> never ever fade the trend of the 100k and 240min
Stone> as in, don't try to pick a bottom on the 100k?
Anek> on the contrary
Anek> do try to pick top in the 100k
Anek> but only
Anek> if the trend is down
Anek> if the trend is up
Anek> do try to pick the bottom
Anek> not the top
Stone> right.
Stone> got it.
Anek> basically
Anek> do AHG1
Anek> on the anchor
Anek> not intraday
Anek> intraday is too noisy
Anek> too volatile
Stone> you left behind so much knowledge and nuggets of wisdom... i never understood them until i read them over and over after screentime. thank you so much.
Anek> np stone
Anek> its possible
Stone> "use anchor chart for trend, entry chart to detect reversals"
Anek> to do small stops
Anek> and ridiculous targets
Anek> if you concentrate on the trend of the anchor
Stone> that really was the holy grail. but i had to understand it myself. the words alone didnt settle in
Anek> for instance
Anek> imagine the anchor
Anek> is doing
Anek> a nasty downtrend
Anek> and by downtrend
Anek> i dont mean LL LHs
Anek> i mean
Anek> flipping S to Rs
Anek> constantly flipping S to Rs
Anek> thats a downtrend
Anek> and the intraday
Anek> happens to be doing an uptrend
Anek> either hH HLs
Anek> or
Anek> flipping intraday Rs to Ss
Anek> well
Anek> if long
Anek> you gonna want to kill it
Anek> when price meets
Anek> the last S of the anchor (Now supposedly R)
Anek> and then
Anek> look for a reversal
Anek> on the intraday
Anek> Fading the intraday trend
Stone> ah yes, indeed.
Anek> because the anchor said, enough
Anek> as you get more experienced
Anek> such plays will merit
Anek> AH entries
Anek> holding multiple days
Anek> etc etc
Anek> dont get caught in the close @ 4pm bullshit
Anek> if you entered wisely
Stone> okay...
Anek> and with the trend
Anek> you got nothing to worry about
Anek> anchor trends dont change
Anek> just like that
Anek> anyway
Anek> think you got enough info for a few

...

and for those of you wondering about the "edge" in trading AHG:

Stone> somehow i felt that you knew that your "edge" could not be erased... the edge was mental & discipline
Anek> it truly is

Thank you Anek.... you have helped a lot of people by paying it forward. I intend to do the same in your honor.

Interesting and Enlightening

Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighboring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur's youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and, if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death.

The question?....What do women really want? Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch's proposition to have an answer by year's end.

He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer

Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would have the answer.

But the price would be high; as the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.

The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the witch She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree to her price first.

The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur's closest friend!

Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc. He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life.

He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden; but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur.

He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the preservation of the Round Table.

Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered Arthur's question thus:

What a woman really wants, she answered....is to be in charge of her own life.

Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and that Arthur's life would be spared.

And so it was, the neighboring monarch granted Arthur his freedom and Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding.

The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the bed. The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened

The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared as a witch, she would henceforth, be her horrible deformed self only half the time and the beautiful maiden the other half.

Which would he prefer? Beautiful during the day....or night?

Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old witch? Or, would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day, but by night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous intimate moments?

What would YOU do?

What Lancelot chose is below. BUT....make YOUR choice before you scroll down below. OKAY?

Noble Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself.

Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.

Now....what is the moral to this story?

Scroll down

The moral is.....
If you don't let a woman have her own way....
Things are going to get ugly

Hitting myself for not shorting @ the start of the day.
Saw the bounce of GH off 13/1 support line, good opportunity for short.
The reasoning behind that was that it is too close to YHOD.

Need to step back and look at the bigger picture. The whole trend was down. this is a perfect place to short for a long run, it end up moving down 30pts although its a slow start

If I short at 854, Stop 858, T1 848, T2 828.
the RR will be 1/1.5 and 1/6.5
profit will be 16pt/car

Short 847, STop 848, T1 844, T2 837
T1 RR 1/3 (ORL)
T2 RR1/10 (can't find a logical place to put stop, so uses 121% fibo extension)

I was nearly taken out after entry. Lucky price move in my direction eventually.

6.5pt/car for the day
12pt/car for the week.

ES2008011201

Nice start for the week. I congratulate myself for holding the trade till T2 met.
RR for T1 is 1/2
RR for T2 is 1/9
Love this multi car thingy, its more pleasing to the mind to hold on 2nd car for large target once I offload 1st car. I know that I can't get negative for the trade with the profit made by 1st car.

ES20080105

Nice start for the year, making 9pt/car. Its the best trade I ever have.
Price tested 918 in Globlex trade, test it again when market open forming a double bottom, this also form ORL30. Px break up with volume. this appears to be a good entry with a small 2pt stop. 1st target is ORH. 2nd target is the tip of price consolidation area of previous trading day.
Happy with what pan out.
